Mar 6 · Developers have looked beyond the Sunshine State due to its inconsistent wind resource and frequent hurricanes Florida legislators are moving to ban all wind power from the state, including offshore, despite lack of interest from industry or government in development off either its Atlantic or Gulf of Mexico coasts. Aug 23, 2023 · After several slow years, the US turbine repowering market is set to rebound after passage of the landmark 2022 Inflation Reduction Act Vestas has received a 158MW order to repower three undisclosed US projects, boosting its activity in a segment of the wind market set to grow as owners look to benefit from federal tax credits in the 2022 climate law. The Danish OEM, which has held the number two spot in the US market for most of the last two decades, said the order consists of 72 V120-2.2MW turbines. Sep 14, 2021 · Removing CO2 directly from the air requires almost as many joules as those produced by burning the fossil fuel in the first place, writes Leigh Collins Capturing CO2 emissions using direct-air-capture (DAC) technology requires almost as much energy as that contained in the fossil fuels that produced the carbon dioxide in the first place, according to new analysis. In 2020, the world used 462 exajoules (EJ) of energy from fossil fuels, which resulted in 32 billion tonnes of CO2 emissions.
